So I went to the podiatrist this morning since the swelling in my foot really hasn’t gone down in 2 weeks.

They took another set of x-rays – turns out the hospital x-rays missed 2 fractures.

So I’m now in an aircast and they’re telling me 4-6 weeks before I can really start training again.

Going to try to lean out through diet and situps in the meantime. It’s about the only thing that doesn’t put pressure on my foot. Maybe I can find a pool and see if there’s a swimming WOD I can do???

  1. Oh man, I’m sorry to hear that!! I hope you get better soon!! I’m sure the coaches will have some ideas on things you could do while recovering but remember getting better is priority #1!!

  2. Get better soon! You’re right – It’s the optimal time to lean out since your diet won’t be at odds with the demands of training.

  3. This may be frowned upon by some CrossFitters, but seated overhead presses (either with dumbbells or barbells, build terrific upper body strength.

If I were you, I’d hit a globo gym and do overhead presses a couple times a week. Once your healthy and return to crossfit, you’ll be amazed at how much your push press and jerk have increased.

Also, not sure if your in any condition, but careful strict pullups or inverted rows would be a good exercise too.

    • Thank you for the advice – I may go that route though I hate globo-gyms with a passion!

  4. Screw that. You have three functioning limbs. Get your ass back in here at PCF and we’ll work on the rest of your body.
